4500SQ.FT Custom House in Pickering
EIDS Consultants is providing full structural design services for this project. Built-up area is 4500sq.ft excluding basement. Due to grading difference, basement would be walk-out from one side posing some challenges due to lateral soil pressure from one side. Structural design is done to offer more column free space both in basement and main floors. Structure of the house is the combination of both steel and wood frames. Basement design comprises of reinforced concrete walls resting on strip foundation with slab on grade as basement slab.
Roof of the house is designed as wood framed trusses with rafter ties and ceiling joists. Design is in full compliance with Ontario Building Code-2012, Part 9 and in accordance with City requirements.
