Construction of new LVL beam and post by removing load bearing stud walls

EIDS Consultants was hired to investigate and provide solution to remove load bearing wall between kitchen and living area of this house. EIDS Consultants carried out the site inspection and studies the design solutions. EIDS Consultants proposed to provide 12” deep LVL wood beam supporting on PSL columns to support the second floor joists by removing load bearing stud walls. Supporting posts are designed to transfer the load all the way to foundation at basement level. City Permit is obtained, and the alteration work is completed with full satisfaction to client.
